Your inner voice is lying to you… and it’s not even yours.

We don’t realize how much of our identity is built on other people’s voices. The things they’ve said about us. The things they thought of us. The opinions we let sink in until they became our own self-talk.
If you grew up with loving, supportive people, maybe that inner voice is kind. But for so many women I meet, it isn’t. It’s critical. It’s harsh. It’s unforgiving. And after years of hearing it, they don’t even recognize themselves anymore.en alike.
I know that woman, because I was her. My self-talk used to be brutal. I hated myself quietly every day. Until I decided that had to change.
And here’s the truth: it wasn’t pretty. It wasn’t easy. It wasn’t glamorous. I sat in a bathroom, closed my eyes, and repeated: I love myself. Inhale, I love myself. Exhale, I love myself.
At first, it felt ridiculous. Fake. Pointless. But I stayed with it. And little by little, I started carving a new path in my brain. A path that finally spoke love back to me.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
The “dumb” little things are what save us—meditation, journaling, choosing what you feed your mind in the morning.
The habits you want to roll your eyes at are the same ones that will rewire your brain. Your self-talk can change.
Your life can change. But it starts with you choosing to do the uncomfortable thing over and over until it becomes your truth.
